THE AMERICAN UNIVERSITY OF DUBAI METRO STATION IN DUBAI IS NOT OPEN YET. KEEP CHECKING TIME OUT DUBAI FOR MORE DETAILS.
Feeder buses to and from Emirates Hills (F35), the Meadows (F38) and Knowledge Village (F32)
1 Emirates Golf Club: This is within walking distance of the metro station and, in true Dubai ‘best and blingest’ fashion, it won the top spot in Golf Digest’s 100 Best Golf Courses Outside the US. You can relax in any one of its restaurants and bars – after you’re done putting on the greens that play host to the Dubai Desert Classic, that is. We recommend the aptly named Sports Bar: it has seven flat-screen TVs and more than 20 channels of sport.

Two minutes walking distance from the station
2 Hayya! Fitness Club: Although you have to be a member to use most of Hayya!’s facilities, anyone can book from the range of affordable classes, such as Thai boxing and power bhangra.
04 362 7790 (The Lakes Club). Other locations: Emirates Hills Town Centre; The Meadows Village. www.hayya.com
Seven minutes to travel by bus from the station
3 Nineteen: If you’re feeling peckish, you should head to the vast expanse of green that is The Montgomerie Golf Course and Resort. Here you can enjoy a classy dinner at this impressive restaurant found at The Montgomerie Clubhouse, a past winner of our Best Contemporary European Restaurant accolade.

4 Angsana Spa: Retreat to the Angsana Spa either at The Montgomerie or Emirates Hills Town Centre for hours of relaxation. Pamper yourself with a host of treatments, including massages, body facials and body conditioners.
04 360 9322 (The Montgomerie). Other location: Emirates Hills Town Centre
Nine minutes to travel by bus from the station
5 Holiday Inn Express: The two-star Holiday Inn Express in Knowledge Village is a seemingly average hotel. However, The Vista restaurant is an extremely pleasant surprise. It has views of the Burj Al Arab from its terrace, helpful staff and consistently delicious international grub – and all this at Holiday Inn prices (read: cheap).
