1 Dubai International Airport: The likes of British Airways, Gulf Air, Oman Air, Qatar Air, the recently launched short-haul airline, flydubai, and more all take off from DXB, so you can escape to practically anywhere you desire. Terminal 3 is dedicated to Dubai’s very own Emirates Airways, which flies to more than 100 destinations.

2 Le Méridien Village: Enter Le Méridien Village and negotiate wooden walkways across twinkling waters, at the end of which there’s a wide variety of restaurants, bars and clubs. The highlights are nightclub Alpha, which hosts live bands and DJs, and newly opened bar/restaurant/club Warehouse, where, surprisingly, all three elements of the venue work well. Yalumba is also worth checking out for its famed ‘free-flowing’ brunch.

3 Al Bustan Rotana: Home to the ever-popular Benihana, this is a great restaurant to visit with a group of friends. Grab a spot around a hot teppanyaki table and let the chefs entertain you with their slicing, dicing and juggling skills.
