The Laughter Factory

The surreal life
It could be a particularly surreal one this month as the line-up includes Milo McCabe, a Brit comedian who often takes to the stage as his alter ego Philberto, Portugal’s number one reality TV star. Philberto sometimes even brings his mute brother Umberto along. We really hope we get to see the two of them in action. Elsewhere we’ve got Mick Ferry, a gloomy surrealist, and Joe Rowntree, who started his TV career writing put downs for Anne Robinson to deliver on The Weakest Link. Sounds like The Laughter Factory is back with a vengeance after a break for Ramadan.

Dhs115, all shows start 9pm, September 30 at Jambase, Souk Madinat Jumeirah; October 1 at Courtyard Marriott, Green Community; October 2 at Rainbow Room, The Aviation Club; October 7 at Zinc, Crowne Plaza on Sheikh Zayed Road; October 8 at Player’s Lounge, The Country Club Dubai. Bohemian Tango

Latin moves
It takes more than two to Tango at the First Group Theatre at Souk Madinat Jumeirah this week. BNF Dubai, the dance school in Knowledge Village run entirely by Colombian teachers and choreographers, will bring genuine Latin flavour to the stage with Bohemian Tango: The Last Night, an upbeat journey of sensuality and passion told through Argentine Tango. Both teachers and students will perform, promising a mesmerising evening guaranteed to put everyone in the Latin mood.

Dhs150, September 26 at 8pm, First Group Theatre at Souk Madinat Jumeirah. www.timeouttickets.com or 800 4669.
