This month’s comedians are a mixed bunch. Junior Simpson was once described as ‘the new Lenny Henry’ – a dubious accolade, perhaps, and not one he seems to relish. However, a little research uncovers some more flattering feedback, including one blogger who asserted that Simpson had made him ‘laugh so hard I nearly s*** myself’.
We’ll also be treated to Phil Nichol, a regular receptor of five-star reviews and, once upon a time, winner of our sister publication Time Out London’s coveted Best Comedy Performer award. Last up is Stephen Grant who, according to UK comedy guide Chortle, ensures that you’re ‘never more than 15 seconds away from a really good laugh’. Foolproof fun at The Laughter Factory? It just might be.
