The streets will swell with cars decorated in red, green, white and black, and passengers riding roofs will jump out and spray silly string in these distinctive colours at anyone and everyone. Get amongst this swell of patriotism on December 2 for UAE National Day. This marks the date, now 40 years ago, when the seven emirates were first united, in Union House at the top of Diyafah Street, Satwa – the spot where the giant UAE flag now waves.
