Brunch Club at The Act Dubai A limited-edition brunch at the world’s highest theatre club opens on Friday July 31. Gastronomer’s Dinner at JET
Set to launch on Saturday August 1, lovers of fine dining will now be able to experience a multi-venue, three-course culinary journey at Jumeirah Emirates Towers. The Gastronomer’s Dinner allows each restaurant in the property to showcase its expertise and signature dishes. The evening will begin with welcome drinks and an amuse bouche at Alta Badia Bar, followed by starters in Alta Badia Restaurant. Mains will be served in The Rib Room, where diners can indulge in the ‘Butcher’s Block’ – a sharing platter of high-grade steaks, lamb cutlets, short ribs and mini burgers. Loca at Souk Al Bahar A second outlet of vibrant Mexican restaurant Loca is opening up in Souk Al Bahar, with a date slated for ‘this month’. The restaurant and bar will be serving up authentic fare, including ceviche, tortillas and tamales. The new venue will also be showing all the major sports games, too. Mythos Kouzina & Grill
Bringing authentic Greek food to the table, Mythos is all about simple yet tasty and attractive food. Scheduled to open by the end of July, the menu here is a compilation of traditional Aegean recipes and dishes, such as grilled halloumi drizzled with home-made oxymeli (a sweet honey and vinegar dressing) and hearty saganaki made with feta cheese enveloped in a light filo pastry. Novikov Restaurant & Bar
Making its Dubai debut on Saturday July 22, Novikov celebrates a variety of Asian cuisines. The restaurant brand has been delighting diners in London and Moscow and hopes to do the same here. Named after its Russian magnate owner, Arkady Novikov, the restaurant has its own main road entrance, and spans two floors, each divided into four distinct areas – bar and lounge, sushi counter, main dining room and mezzanine private dining room with views of the open kitchen. PI.Dubai Scheduled to open this week, PI.Dubai is a new home-grown gourmet pizza joint in The Dubai Mall. Spirito Brazilian Lounge and Kitchen
Opening Saturday August 1, Spirito aims to bring the best of Brazilian cuisine and music to the ninth floor of Media One Hotel. The Black Lion Gastropubs are usually the reserve of Brits, but Dubai’s first American gastropub is hoping to be a new challenger. Located on the ground floor of The H Dubai, The Black Lion is from the restaurant group that gave us Reform Social & Grill, and this new venue will offer all-day dining, and have a menu of classy pub grub such as steaks, surf and turf and more. Pollo Pollo is said to be the city’s first Peruvian ‘Pollo A La Brasa’ – Peruvian Chicken Restaurant. Owner Ali Sidani has brought in an authentic Peruvian team of chefs to introduce real Peruvian flavour to Dubai. The interiors and ambience are inspired by colourful Inca traditions and the streets of Lima. The menu offers Peruvian Chicken, Alfajores, Chicha Morada and Inca Cola. Barrel 12 Located on the trunk of the Palm, this new sports bar opened at the end of June serving lunch and breakfast. With seven TV screens for sports and low ambient music, Barrel 12 looks set to be a friendly local for Palm Jumeirah residents. Decorated with low-hanging metal lights, exposed brickwork and cool wall art made from draught barrels, the bar is bright and relaxed. At the time to writing, the gastropub is yet to get its licence in place, but it plans to offer hops, draughts and grape, alongside a menu of seasonal British fare. Indie at Gaucho
One is a big-brand steakhouse with restaurants across the UK, Hong Kong and Buenos Aires, and the other is a nightlife lounge originally from Beirut. Indie, was created by Add-Mind, the people behind Iris Dubai and White Dubai, and this partnership sees Indie move in above DIFC’s Argentinian restaurant, Gaucho. Gaucho will be renovated and expanded to accommodate the bohemian-style lounge. Guests can head upstairs to enjoy Indie’s eclectic vibe, small dishes and creative drinks before heading downstairs for a larger steak dinner. Nola Eatery & Social House
Taking inspiration from the southern states of America, Nola Eatery & Social House offers a menu of light soul food, with dishes such as jambalaya, voodoo burgers and crab cakes. At the bar, the drinks menu features New Orleans-inspired concoctions and premium beverages. The venue is decked out in a colourful vintage style creating a relaxed yet stylish atmosphere, and is due to open for lunch and dinner by the end of this month. Daily noon-midnight. Stereo Arcade Step through the doors of Stereo Arcade and you’re instantly transported back to the ’80s. This retro venue houses a bar and a nightclub, and has 12 custom-made arcades fully loaded with 600 classic games from Pac-Man to Street Fighter, and tasty hot dogs to snack on. Stereo Arcade is an 8,000 square foot homage to the decade that brought us Beverly Hills Cop and acid wash jeans, and in the bar, revellers can enjoy live music four nights a week. In the club, which will open Tuesday nights and the weekends, top resident DJs will spin a tracklist of ’80s and ’90s pop, dance, R&B and hip-hop. On Sunday nights the stage opens up for live karaoke, where singers get a dose of Dutch courage before taking to the mic. This new hotel, located in the heart of Dubai Marina, recently opened with a host of exciting food and beverage outlets for residents and guests. Accents Restaurant & Deli features international cuisine and has an open kitchen where diners can pick fresh ingredients and witness them being prepared by the team of expert chefs.
