Would you spend Dhs230 on a 24-karat gold burger? If you’ve got money to burn and a deep-seated love of all-American sandwiches, make a beeline for food truck fiesta Eat The World DXB, which rolls into town from Thursday February 23 to Saturday 25.
Among the dozens of trucks rolling into Downtown Dubai’s Burj Park – flown in from the UK, US and Singapore – is The Roadery, which prides itself on its Great British burgers. As a special one-off for the event, part of Dubai Food Festival’s citywide line-up of culinary experiences, the truck’s owner, Dan Shearman, and his team have upped the ante with a sandwich as ambitious as the city it will be served in.
The colossal Burg-Khalifa features five stories of wagyu beef patties, truffled cheese, seared foie gras, saffron mayonnaise and blackeberry ketchup, all wedged into an edible 24-karat gold leaf brioche bun.
A limited number will be available on the day, so you’ll need to move fast to get your hands on one. But there’s also the chance to land yourself a freebie – the first two customers to say the secret password on the day will be presented with their own Burg-Khalifa, minus the Dhs230 price tag. Now that’s a burger we can get on board with.
For a chance to discover the password, you’ll have to follow @theroadery on Snapchat in the lead-up to Eat The World DXB.
Eat The World DXB returns to Burj Park, Downtown Dubai, from February 23 to 25. For more information and tickets, visit www.eattheworlddxb.ae.
