The two organisations care about where your food is coming from, how it’s grown and also how it’s prepared and cooked, and if you care about the same, you’ve really got to check this farmers’ market out.
Those visiting will be treated to a wide variety of seasonal fruits and vegetables, as well as free-range eggs, home-made cheeses and much more.
But the best part is yet to come.
As well as buying fresh, organic produce that you can whip up into delicious wholesome, healthy meals of your own, you can also taste some of what the amongst few chefs can do with the ingredients on offer, too.
The café has devised a “From the Yard” menu, which will be available alongside the farmers’ market on Fridays only, also from 8am to 2pm. Dishes on it will be cooked largely using fresh and organic produce supplied from Deena Organic Farms.
Get there early and try the Yard breakfast – thick toasted sourdough bread, fried or scrambled eggs, home-made baked beans, sautéed spinach and mushrooms, organic beet hummus, avo and your choice of grilled halloumi or organic chicken sausages.
There’s also an açaí smoothie bowl, topped with fresh berries, kiwi, bananas, home-made granola and coconut flakes.
Or maybe just refresh with a cool Yard juice of green apple, celery, lime, green pepper, kale, cucumbers, basil and mint.
We think this sounds like a market you might very much enjoy.
Prices vary. Fri 8am-2pm. Ongoing. From the Yard, amongst few, Palm Strip Mall, Jumeirah Beach Road (04 330 8965).
