Lele Pons, Conor Maynard and more at VIDXB arriving in early December
As more and more of us spend our lives on Instagram and YouTube creating original content and sharing it with the world, two online superstars are coming to town to help show us how it’s done.
British singer-songwriter Conor Maynard, and American online personality and comedian Lele Pons are heading to Dubai on Friday December 8 and Saturday 9 to appear at the region’s first dedicated event for online content creators, VIDXB, taking place at Dubai World Trade Centre.
Lele Pons has found fame on YouTube for a range of comedy sketches seen by more than 6 million subscribers. She also has more than 16 million Instagram followers, and has been repeatedly named as one of the most influential people on the internet today. She releases new videos every week, including most recent sketch “Getting My Driver’s License”.
Conor Maynard, meanwhile, found fame after songs he’d recorded and put on YouTube went viral. He’s since become an award-winning singer songwriter, and has signed with Warner Bros. Music subsidiary Palophone. Maynard will be bringing a live performance to VIDXB.
Maynard and Pons will be joined by other hugely influential names from the world of online content creation, including Casey Neistat, Anwar Jibawi, Inanna Sarkis and Hannah Stocking.
“The lineup of creators attending VIDXB is going from strength to strength, and is evidence of the demand for an event like this,” said Omar Butti, executive director of innovation programs at Dubai Film and TV Commission (organisers of VIDXB). “The likes of Lele Pons, Conor Maynard and the Shots Studio team have huge fan bases in the Middle East and I know we’ll see some incredible performances from them in December.”
Tickets are on sale now for the event, available at Virgin Megastores across the city or at Dubai.Platinumlist.net. Tickets start from Dhs65.
