Creekside has everything you could possibly want from a park. There are rolling hills, an amphitheatre, picnic areas, playgrounds and some of the very best watery views in the city. The famed cable car isn’t really worth the Dhs25 ticket, but you can hire a four-person bike for Dhs30 and peddle your way around. The staff are relaxed in their attitude to ball games, but the lack of flat space means it’s more suited to a game of catch than a kickabout. Fishing in the Creek is also allowed, but only from the designated pier. Like most of Dubai’s public spaces, the place gets packed on Fridays, but – the car park aside – Creekside’s vastness can usually accommodate the arrivals.
