Sole DXB, Dubai’s biggest street culture festival, is returning for the fifth time. The two-day event will take place on the weekend of November 18 and 19 in Dubai Design District, and the theme for this year is ‘City of Gold’ – as a nod to Dubai’s souqs and cultural heritage.
Although it started out in 2010 with a focus on shoes and sneakers, Sole DXB has since grown to celebrate all aspects of street culture, from art and music to basketball and fashion.
Brands including adidas, Puma and Nike will all be taking part, and this year’s event will see a retrospective showcase from Maison Margiela Paris. Last year saw the likes of Stan Smith and DMC from Run DMC make guest appearances.
At the event will be an Early Retirement pop-up shop, featuring sneaker brands that aren’t otherwise available here, and you’ll be able to get your hands on the new sneaker collaboration with Puma, the PUMA Clyde x Sole ‘SWAG’. The Swap & Sale store will also be offering footwear from collectors from all over the world.
Taking place at the festival will be the Sole Ball Above All Classic, a winner-takes-all-basketball tournament between 11 teams from the region, which is sponsored by Nike. More announcements about events and music at Sole DXB are expected to follow.
