The Middle East’s largest celebration of the written and spoken word is back and Time Out can reveal the exciting line-up for 2017.
Isobel Abulhoul OBE, Director of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, was joined by a number of guest speakers for the launch of an event, which has received a number of international accolades since its inauguration and has just recently been given the Best Family Friendly Day Out prize at the Time Out Dubai Kids Awards.
A total of 142 novelists, screenwriters, poets and guest speakers with amazing stories will descend on Dubai from March 3 to 11 next year, for a festival which will have the theme of ‘journeys’.

Jeffrey Archer A former Member of the British Parliament, Archer is the author of bestselling thrillers including The Clifton Chronicles, Prison Diaries, A Twist in the Tale, Kane and Abel and Not a Penny More, Not a Penny Less.
Alex Broun One of the world's leading experts and authors of ten-minute plays, Broun is also the founder of a free access script website and driver in the Short+Sweet festival movement.
Sultan Al Qassemi Al Qassemi is a renowned Emirati commentator specializing in Arab current affairs and politics. He is an influential social media figure and founder of the Barjeel Art Foundation.
Tamim Barghouti This Palestinian poet, columnist and political scientist is most famous for for his powerful poem 'Fi Al-Quds'.
Charlotte Butterfield This British freelance journalist based in Dubai was the runner up at the 2016 Montegrappa Writing Prize, earning her a book deal with HarperCollins
Luigi Bonomi This top literary agent who has launched the careers of many bestselling authors, including Festival authors Rachel Hamilton and Annabel Kantaria, and represents a host of renowned writers.
Andrew Davies The brilliant author and TV screenwriter who is best known for adapting 'House of Cards' and 'Pride and Prejudice' for television.
Frank Gardner A BBC journalist with a life of experience reporting from the Middle East as a foreign correspondent. He is the author of 'Blood and Sand' and 'Far Horizons'.
Kathy Reichs Reichs is the author of the phenomenally successful Temperance Brennan novels and producer of the television show 'Bones'.
Ben Miller One half of English comedy duo Amstrong and Miller, he is also the author of the humorous science books 'It's Not Rocket Science' and 'The Aliens Are Coming'.
Mourid Baghouti The internationally-renowned Palestinian poet is the other author of 'I Was Born There, I Was Born Here' and 'I Saw Ramallah'.
