Award-winning West End comedy arrives in town this this May
Fans of absurd and surreal comedy, you’re in for a treat, because Monty Python’s West End stage show Spamalot is coming to Dubai this year.
Dubai Opera is getting ready to host its first ever comedy show in May, with Spamalot set to take place between Wednesday May 2 and Sunday 6. There will be six performances over the five days, so make sure you make the most of this chance to see one the UK’s top West End comedy performances.
It’s all spun off from Monty Python’s classic 1975 movie – you know, the one with The Knights Who Say Ni – as lead character King Arthur embarks on a bold quest to find an elusive and ancient treasure. On his travels, Arthur encounters mutinous knights, surprisingly aggressive rabbits and alarmingly ferocious Frenchmen.
The Tony Award-winning show is written by legendary comedian Eric Idle, who has been entertaining audiences around the world as part of the Monty Python troupe for more than 50 years. He even wrote the musical score for the show, which has managed to sneak in Always Look On The Bright Side of Life, too, as an extra treat.
Tickets for this one-off set of performances are available for Dhs250 now, and there’s a special early bird discount of 20 percent when you book any seat (not boxes, unfortunately) before 5pm on Thursday February 15.
This is a great chance to see a brilliant performance of a top UK show, so don’t miss it. Dhs250. May 2-6. Dubai Opera, Downtown Dubai, www.dubaiopera.com.
