Went to this place with some friends after calling them for a reservation and they said that I could come and sit on the bar until a table is clear.
we went there, the hostess was EXTREMELY rude and not welcoming. her name was Michaela. We sat on the bar then we were transferred into a table. Half an hour later, even before we finished our first drinks, the manager came to us telling us that the table was reserved for someone else. we were not informed before that. Then Michaela came and asked us to go back to the bar because the table was reserved.
For an expensive lounge in a 5 star hotel, this place knows NOTHING about the art of hospitality.

The place feels thoroughly well thought out in terms of the combination of ways it tickles your senses. The music, the view, the ambiance all come together to deliver quite a special experience.
A hands in the air, wild, screaming party it is not, and I am sure it's the last thing they want to be (that's more aimed at the previous reviewer who clearly misunderstood the venue's aspirations). It's more a low-key, no gimmicks, yet sophisticated place to go and feel pampered, and that is definitely what they deliver.
Service is certainly efficient, not what I would call friendly, but with surroundings such as those found here, it wasn't bad enough to bother me too much. Yes, I will be back next time.

Spent the worst New Year's Eve at iKandy:
- Music was a disaster: DJ played the same beat of lounge music the whole night
- There was no countdown to celebrate the new year, not even "Happy New Year" music.
DJ was so arrogant to move out of his booth to mingle and entertain people!!
- The ticket price allows us to have appetizers, 3 course meal and desserts until 3am; all what we had were few canapés and they were served until midnight only!
- Service was awful: slow and unexperienced.
Honestly, I would've preferred to spend this amount of money in a much better place... My friends and I were very disappointed and will never go to iKandy again.

Had drinks with friends yesterday evening and... after reading all these positive reviews about the place I was SHOCKED!! Well, first of all, it is not a "One of a kind" lounge, there are zillions of this kind in Dubai with much better service and staff attitude.
For 4 people with simple drinks like martinis and white house wine as well as snacks (french fries and fried calamari) our bill went up to 1500 AED! After 7 years of life in Dubai and working in Hospitality I was astonished with this amount, considering that there is nothing special about the place to be that overpriced! When we called restaurant manager just to give us an idea about the reason they've priced everything so high, he was extremely rude and arrogant, acting as if he didnt care and wanted us to leave.
Never ever coming there again and what a shame for Shangri-La to have such a poor customer service and arrogant staff attitude!

I have been going to this place since it opened , i love the staff, food, cocktails and the crowd.. I love this place so much that i celebrated 2 of my birthdays and also joined the club connoisseur, because i knew i would be spending a lot of time there and the 20% discount would be useful. Good job ikandey !
