Biber Lounge at Rixos the Palm has been revamped and is now – despite the name – proudly a pub. Inside is a pool table, which brings some serious pub points, a private karaoke room, which might not scream pub to everyone, but we still love, and mix and match furniture.
While we’re loath to use the term, Biber Lounge really does have a quirky interior – there are low-hanging lights, chairs and tables of all shapes and sizes. It has a laid-back, almost gentleman’s club vibe (if the gentlemen were football and music fans rather than golfers and investment bankers), and plenty of screens on which to watch sports. We enjoy it as a place to talk over hops; it’s the ideal place for a big group, putting the world to rights while watching a game.
Drinks deals are generous, with a daily two-for-one between 5pm and 10pm and others during sporting events. The bar also serves above average pub grub. On the downside, it can be a little empty (though with a new brunch, that’s probably not the case on a Friday afternoon). We can only put that down to the location, right on the tip of Palm Jumeirah’s East Crescent.
The bottom line A bar aimed squarely at sports lovers who have time to spend sipping hops with friends.
