The artist’s studio, as it’s name means, is the perfect description for this showy expanse, the second part to chef Mohammed Islam’s empire of a business – the first being the restaurant and the third being this bar’s rooftop terrace showing off impressive Dubai Marina views. Its blend of art-deco features and Great Gratsby-esque ostentatiousness really works. And while clearly glitzy and luxurious (not to mention primely located), it manages not to feel exclusive.
The R&B and hip-hop playlist and the four free drinks on Tuesdays for ladies’ night, pull in the punters. And if you arrive early enough, you can also bag yourself a table with plump, comfy cream sofas.
This is the weekend venue to hang out in if you live in the vicinity, and its vastness, plushness and catchy soundtrack, combined with those excellent views, make it a venue you’d want travel to, even if you don’t. You could spend an entire evening here, having dinner in the restaurant and drinks at the bar, before heading out to that terrace to relax and soak up the views.
And that aforementioned ladies’ night is well worth stopping off for.
The bottom line This Pier 7 haunt offers a comprehensive night out.
