There is no doubt about it, Cielo has one of the best views in Dubai. It sits on the top floor of the complex at Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club that also includes Casa de Tapas and Boardwalk and looks over the Creek towards Bur Dubai. As the sun sets there is hardly a spot in the city that beats it.
That said, it isn’t a venue to suit everyone. The primarily white décor and DJ bring to mind Ibiza beach bars, and it attracts a suitable crowd – particularly once the nearby brunches empty on a Friday.
The bar is on the premium end of the scale when it comes to prices. Bottles of hops touch Dhs50 and mixed drinks are Dhs75 and more. There were no signs of any deals on our last visit, and a lack of local water meant we paid more just for that than we’ve paid for beverages elsewhere.
While we’re not averse to paying a little more for quality, the service here is often lacklustre and the décor could be given an update. The white leather seats look a little worn and the menus are a bit grubby.
Still, those views are worth visiting for.
The bottom line A setting to impress partying visitors.
