This sleek, Argentinian lounge bar is popular mid-week, with office types from the surrounding financial district. Friday nights aren’t quite as hectic (you’ll manage to grab a seat at the bar at 11pm, which is often difficult to do on weekdays), but are equally as enjoyable.
The bar itself is situated to the left corner of its vibrant restaurant, in a separate sectioned-off area, but still within earshot of its buzzing neighbour. The centrepiece of the lounge is the marble bar, where smartly dressed bartenders shake and mix all sorts of elaborate concoctions. Take a seat at the bar and you won’t be short of conversation – staff here are extremely friendly and will keep you chatting.
Soulful house music sets the tone for the evening, and noise from the newly opened bar Indie, one floor up, filters through. Both bars are equally as good as each other and are worth visiting, as each offers something different. Indie is lively, while Gaucho offers a more relaxed, low-key ambience, ideal for those who want to enjoy great drinks in a laid-back setting with top-class service.
The bottom line A relaxing setting with friendly service.
