We love the innovative menu and super-fresh fish at Catch’s restaurant and, happily, we enjoy the bar just as much.
Catch is classic, laid-back and cool. From the shiny brass fixtures and leather bar stools to the exposed brickwork, there’s more than a passing nod to its New York roots.
In fact you could even be in Manhattan: there are no Burj Khalifa views here (there aren’t actually any windows) but that might be what draws you to it even more – it’s timeless and you could be in any vibrant city.
It’s also fairly low-key, with dim lighting and a warm vibe, and feels somewhat removed from the glitz and glam that you can get used to in Dubai.
When we arrive at 8pm on a Friday, it’s remarkably quiet, which means there’s no struggle for a seat, though the buzz quickly grows. The barman expertly guides us through the mixed drinks, before shaking us up a concoction boasting unusual ingredients (including wasabi paste).
This bar is ideal for a pre-dinner drink and is worth a visit on its own merits, too.
The bottom line A laid-back but classy cosmopolitan vibe.
