If opening night at Vii Club is anything to go by – when it invited award-winning rapper Sean Kingston to perform to eager partygoers – it’s clear this is not a place that is in the business of being subtle. And there’s no reason it should be, since it’s such a beautiful venue.
The bar is an intimate lounge, which is artfully decorated with a cluster of elaborate chandeliers hanging overhead that lead into the new nightclub, which is revealed to clubbers from behind black velvet curtains. The club is a spacious and sophisticated space, with great lighting and two central catwalk-style stages where pairs of dancers entertain revellers as the resident DJ blasts up-tempo house. The crowd is an interesting mix that is hard to label – simply night owls looking to be entertained.
Tuesday night is ladies’ night, so head there with the gals to get two free drinks. It can get a little smoky, but when it does, you can head out to the terrace (that bit of the venue has already been open a year), which you access through a charming illuminated pathway to discover a secret garden sheltered by a canopy of lush foliage. So get glammed up and check out this great new club.
The bottom line A stunning venue with personality that’s worth going inside for.
