Nothing says exclusivity like taking over part of a reclaimed island off the coast. And that’s exactly what has happened with the arrival of the 12th Nikki Beach club and the third resort of its kind in the world.
Set on 400 metres of private beach on the as yet unfinished Pearl Jumeirah (right next to Four Seasons Resort Dubai on Jumeirah Beach Road), when complete, the entire resort will be one tenth of the size of The Dubai Mall. Featuring 117 rooms and suites, 15 villas, 61 residences, three restaurants, an ESPA spa, Tone Fitness Centre, one beach club, and possibly a partridge in a pear tree, this opening has been anticipated since word first dropped in early 2015.
The partridge would certainly fit in. White is very much the colour of choice; beds, chairs, walkways, and, of course, white sandy beaches. The venue even called its launch event on Thursday March 17 “White Party”. Quite what they say about the quality of tan you’ll top up, we’re not sure.
But top it up you will. Nikki Beach is a huge space, allowing you to get whatever sort of experience you want from it. A little dance? Stay close to the pool and nearby DJ booth. Kick back and listen to the water wash up on the shore? The beach is spacious enough to find that little nook of privacy.
And you can, of course, grab a bite to eat. Café Nikki will be the casual poolside outlet with table service and an extended reach to the cabanas. Come hungry, because the signature offering – the St Tropez Famous Sushi & Ceviche Boat – serves six and comes in at Dhs1,800. Satine will offer a more refined dining experience when open; no flip flops here, thank you. Californian seafood restaurant Key West completes the trio.
