The newest outlet from the Nikki Beach brand, this one on the Pearl Jumeira opened early last year.
It feels secluded, on the far side of the island, away from all the hustle and bustle of the city.
The bar is on a terrace by the pool, where there are plenty of low sofas and sun loungers – if you’re visiting at night, you’ll have to resist the urge to go for a dip.
It’s the perfect spot for sundowners – kick back on one of those lazy chairs and watch the sun sink below the horizon as you lap up magnificent views over the Arabian Gulf.
The ambience is chilled, helped by the soft jazz piping through the speakers and the sound of the waves breaking against the shore.
The space is classy and chic, with its crisp, clean, all-white colour scheme – from the furniture to the buildings to the sand on the beach. The resort has the impressive ability to transport you from Dubai to a far-flung island where the uncharted beach is pristine and perfect. So far, oh so very good.
The drinks menu is small, but Nikki Beach has put its own spin on the more traditional offerings. The prices reflect this, though, with mixed drinks at the keener end of the cost spectrum, ringing in at no less than Dhs70.
It doesn’t get particularly busy during the week, with just a handful of people present on our last weekday visit, making it feel like a secluded hideaway. It gets busier at the weekend – as you’d expect – especially since its first floor lounge, Nikki Privé, only opens on Thursday and Friday nights.
For a true taste of glamour and laid-back sophistication in Dubai, you need to experience Nikki Beach.
The bottom line Cool, classy beach bar that will transport you to the place of dreams.
