The opening of Dubai Water Canal has done many things for this city. It has given people a waterfront promenade to jog along, two automatic waterfalls at either end of Sheikh Zayed Road and great views for Al Habtoor City.
The recently opened Boa Lounge & Club has hit the jackpot, as its open terrace area on the 32nd floor is just what this side of town needed. The views from this al fresco space are great, as they span all the way to Dubai Port and Atlantis The Palm. However, don’t expect sundowners here, as the lounge doesn’t open until well past sunset.
The contemporary interiors are reminiscent of other key members of Dubai’s nightlife scene. They’re unlikely to be conversation starters, if we’re honest, but when you have a Canal to look at, you may not need to worry about small talk.
The mixed drinks are average, but the alert service staff make up for any misgivings with the beverages.
Boa also boasts a two-level nightclub that has hosted gigs by the likes of Soulja Boy, Quintino and, more recently, Drake. This mirrored space is yet to be discovered by the serial party crowd of Dubai, so check it out while it’s hot. The Bottom Line The chilled vibes at the terrace lounge make it well worth a visit.
