Twice the size of the Time Out Dubai award-winning original Lock, Stock & Barrel in Barsha Heights, this sprawling nightspot is a behemoth on JBR’s nightlife scene. In fact, at approximately 22,000 sq ft, it’s one of the largest bars in the city.
And even despite its enormous proportions (and warren-like layout in parts) on any given Friday afternoon you’ll find it every bit as packed to the rafters as its older sister, the ground floor transformed into an impromptu dancefloor as revellers sing along to a familiar soundtrack.
On weeknights, however, it’s a more sedate affair. At the time of writing (and since opening), the venue has still not been able to start serving food. Once it can, the dining element here promises to set it further apart from the original outlet, thanks to a series of dedicated kitchens serving up street food-style eats from the likes of India, the UK, Mexico and the Middle East.
Until then, staff dole out generous bowls of popcorn alongside drinks orders. And speaking of drinks, fans of LSB’s two-for-one happy hour will be pleased to note that too has been transported to JBR, running daily from 4pm until 8pm, alongside a Tuesday ladies’ night offering three free drinks between 6pm and 1am.
The venue is also positioning itself as a live music hub, with resident bands 13Daze and Gorgeous George on rotation on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Sure, Lock, Stock & Barrel JBR The Walk isn’t reinventing anything. What it is doing is dialling the LSB brand up to 11. And while some may loathe it, you can be certain others will absolutely love it.
The bottom line Everything you’d expect, done bigger.
