For a place complete with Ibiza features and perfect for Coachella party vibes, L!QD is sadly lacking a fitting crowd to make it the essential place to celebrate good times under the sun.
Boasting its own signature menu with a focus on poolside lounging, there’s a range of well-sourced grape by the glass, fruity mixed drinks and hops. However, it seems this al fresco tapas bar is focused more on rest and relaxation as opposed to grooving the night away.
The day-to night, open-air venue opened in January, and has since been impressing crowds with its ladies’ nights, which happen every night of the week. It also boasts two for one deals in happy hour, with drinks at just Dhs25.
We visit on a weekend and as soon as we arrive, we’re greeted with cool and vibrant deep house tunes with relaxed lighting and plenty of cushiony seats.
To the left is a walkway up to the inviting pool area, along with a selection of dining tables backed by a plethora of couches.
The service is quick and efficient, and once we’ve ordered it only takes a couple of minutes for our drinks to arrive.
If there’s a place wanting to get you into that partying mood, L!QD would be at the top of that list.
What’s missing though? An actual crowd.
As lovely as the venue is, the subtle but smooth tunes from the resident DJ struggle to bring the small group of bargoers to their feet.
L!QD has a lot going for it, but it needs to pick it up a notch in terms of tunes and Ibiza vibes before it becomes your regular party spot in the sun. However, as it’s still in early days, with the deals and setting we can see it improving.
The bottom line A chilled-out bar thats aching for a crowd.
