Dubai is home to many a sports bar, some better than others. They’re rarely glamorous and more often than not a little smoky, but that’s arguably part of their charm.
Carpenter’s Sports Bar in the Hyatt Regency comfortably falls into that category. It’s not flash or swanky (or even remotely modern) but it has its appeal, mainly thanks to its warm and friendly vibe. The staff are helpful and welcoming, and the customers seem to love it.
Another bonus is the venue’s happy hour, or happy eight hours in fact. Every day from noon until 8pm there’s fifty percent off selected drinks.
With sport on the screens and a homely vibe, its not a bad spot to chill out and chat over a pint with your mates.
The area isn’t the most happening you’ll find (the pub is set near the Galleria ice rink in the middle of the shopping centre), but once you find it, it’s a decent enough spot.
Carpenter’s isn’t somewhere you’ll want to travel a distance especially to visit, but if you’re dining in the hotel (namely the excellent, authentic Japanese restaurant, Miyako, or the newly refurbished Al Dawaar), then you’ll do worse than stop in for a pint to enjoy the laid-back vibe.
The bottom line Homely bar, with sport and good deals.
