Visit the fifth Dubai branch of the popular Irish bar
McGettigan’s JBR will officially open its doors on Wednesday October 18, becoming the fifth Dubai branch of the popular Irish pub chain.
Housed inside the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah on Jumeirah Beach Residence’s The Walk, the bar will open and begin serving from 4pm.
The latest in a string of bar and club openings for the neighbourhood and set close to the beach, we’re expecting this one to be popular with holidaymakers, residents who have spent days on the sand and, of course, all the JBR/Marina-dwellers who are sure to be thrilled with a new Irish local.
Not only does it promise the trademark McGettigan’s décor that we know and love, there will also be some excellent deals during the launch period, too, with a happy hour every day from 4pm to 8pm (and until 9pm on Thursdays).
There are also ten large screens on which to catch all the live sport as it happens, and McGettigan’s’ favourite dishes will be on the menu. Expect burgers, fish and chips, sarnies and more.
This is a fifth McGettigan’s for the city, joining branches in DWTC, JLT, Dubai International Airport and Souk Madinat Jumeirah. Every McGettigan’s offers a similar but different experience. And just last week McGettigan’s JLT was named the best Irish pub of the year (outside of Ireland) at the Irish Pubs Global Awards, so we’re expecting great things of this sparkly new location.
“It’s been a long time coming but as the Irish saying goes, good things really do come to those who wait,” says Marion Sheridon, manager of McGettigan's JBR.
“McGettigan’s has been the go-to name for live sport, great food and top drink offers in Dubai for nearly seven years, and we expect our new venue in the Hilton Dubai Jumeirah to continue that legacy. Throw in our unique McGettigan’s location of being right by the beach and it’s a winning formula.”
There are set to be several exciting new promotions coming later in the year, too, including Wisdom Wednesday – a weekly pub quiz night, themed nights every Monday and the legendary McGettigan’s SOS Breakfast (a full Irish and three drinks) on a weekend, with more in the pipeline.
Watch this space. We can’t wait to head to JBR to check it out.
