Fancy a house party but without the clearing up afterwards? You might just be in luck, with news a very specifically themed new bar is opening up in the Fairmont Dubai this summer.
It will join The Trophy Room as yet another new bar in the shape-shifting Sheikh Zayed Road hotel.
Promised to open in June, according to the bar’s (currently fairly sparse) Instagram page, it’s called The House Party Bar, and it’s teasing some classic house party theming – and then some you might just have seen in old-school American teen movies.
Pizza and red plastic cups (so far, so familiar), plus hops pong, Nintendo and even arcade games among its throwback offerings. "You will literally be in a house while partying," a representative told Time Out Dubai. "We're bringing the house party to a venue."
The House Party Bar – a concept originally from London – is arriving in the place of Cirque Le Soir, which we're told will still exist, but will be relocated to a new space, separated by an entrance accessible from the new arrival. We've been told Cirque Le Soir will be kept the same in terms of its concept, but will become more of a "VIP club". Rest assured, the performances will continue.
A teaser video on The House Party Bar’s Instagram page features a mash-up of instantly recognisable ’90s scenes, from chewing gum and Pizza Hut adverts to clips from Britney Spears and TLC music videos, movies such as The Mask and Home Alone, and sporting moments including a Michael Jordan slam dunk.
We're glad to see the bar is going to be serving up food, and we've been told it'll be classic American munch. We're talking popcorn chicken, burgers, tacos, pizzas and brownies. Okay, now we're definitely excited.
Whether this new bar turns out to be one for Sheikh Zayed Road’s nightlife scene remains to be seen…
