For a long time The Roof Top has been a favoured meeting place for the snappily dressed set, thanks to its distinctive dome centrepiece and views of Media City. With the sun setting and atmospheric music floating out of the speakers (usually from a DJ, although the bar now hosts live bands on some nights, too – see Music listings, page 110), it’s a cracking place to transport yourself away from the daily grind, especially if you work in one of the nearby offices.
We’d suggest eating before you arrive – while there is food at the bar, it’s little more than finger-food. Decent finger-food, but overpriced for the amount you get. Still, the service is prompt and courteous, and the surroundings are cool. But it is a bit of a trek to the bar if you don’t get dropped at the Arabian Courtyard part of the hotel, so bear that in mind.
