Healey’s has long had the monopoly on the nightlife scene at Jumeirah Lakes Towers, so the arrival of this brand-new Irish-run, Irish-owned pub is bound to delight even the most immovable creatures of habit. With a few promotions already lined up, we’re expecting big things from this one.

walking distance from my place and I m going here since the time its open but now its too crowded and there service level has drop down sharply. Suggest them to improve it cuz if any other pub opens in this area they will suffer a lot. Too smoky inside do something for this as well.

Seemed like a nice place, it has a nice crowed great music bit old but refreshing. i would recommend it for anytime u feel like u need a drink it'll be awesome

Drinks - good but no deals
Atmosphere (indoor) - smokey but lively
Atmosphere (outdoor) - great weather and chilled vibe
Service - slow and careless
Brunch - 149 not 99 (for one menu item and 3 drinks)

Worst experience in Dubai ever. I've been here since 1997 and have put up with everything from A to Z, but the service and, even more so, the management were ignorant, arrogant and unprofessional. The 'brunch' is not a Dubai brunch but one dish from the menu with 3 drinks for 149 dhs. - approximately 10% savings from the a la cart menu. Still, we opted for the brunch as the outdoors venu and vision to spend an afternoon with the family were ideal - 3 adults and 3 kids (aged 9,8,7). There are no kids brunch options and no kids menu - either order the brunch or a la cart. The food was average. Upon concluding our brunch, which was ok to that point, we had read the writing on the brunch coupons and informed the waiter that we would save them for another day - as they were not dated and said 'from 1:00-6:00 pm every Friday'. We were then informed that this is not possible. I approached the management to ask about the coupons but I was aggressively told to take it or leave it. I further informed the manager that I accepted the terms and conditions but wanted to share how we felt about the conveyed information - only to be 'bullied'. Lastly, i told him that, on my last visit, my spouse and I arrived at 10:30, ordered food and drinks but were told the kitchen closed at 10:00pm. We gladly opted to order from the bar menu. Yet, during the brunch I read the kitchen timings on the wall outside the WC that said the kitchen was open to 11:00. When I informed the manager, he said that this should not have happened, asked my name and said it is up to me to decide whether or not return. Maybe I'd go back for a drink (and the wings are superb), but I will be very careful with the service and, unless famished, never opt for their 'brunch'.

Went to McGettigans for a bite after work this Wednesday evening together with another female colleague. Although casually dressed (as per their dress code advertised on TimeOut), I had a normal black abaya thrown over since I came from work, but without any head covering. Being South African, I'm accustomed to- and usually enjoy Irish restaurants, but sadly I was turned away at the door as I was wearing an abaya (in Dubai,which is supposedly a Muslim country). It seems in comparison with the other scantily dressed females I was covering up too much. What a shame, but then again, with some hardcore South African and Irish family and friends visiting us in Dubai over the next three months, I will DEFINITELY NOT RECOMMEND McGettigans in Jumeirah Lake Towers - now or in the future.

I used to enjoy the Beer Garden atmosphere before it was restyled to ugly, with empty white walls space for drinking without any highlight, zing or something u can like walking in. Now it is just a white box with several tables, and several TVs. Looks like barn. Is the Bonnington that poor to spend some money for decorations?
I totally understand if they had to cover the outside area because the bar placed in residential area, and can be seen (as heard) from any window around, that unacceptable for Dubai. But make some effort to make the bar at least a little bit interesting.

Was really excited about McGettigans opening in JLT unitl I visited and saw how smokey it was inside :-(
Even my friends that smoke dont like going there because of this!
Ok, during the winter months, when you can sit outside, but I will not go there during summer.
Please Mcgettigans, throw the smokers outside!

I would go back but for goodness sake get some ventilation, the smoke was so bad my mates, some who were smokers had to give up. Our eyes were stinging. It doesn't cost that much to put the airblowers on surely.
Great venue but needs to cater for all not just the smokers.

My husband and i came to this place for a drink and we were impressed, nice place!! Easy going and relaxed...
Then we decided to go for a meal there, fab steak, lovley fries, the only thing i didnt get was the tomato salad, i thought at least it would come with extra greenary, but to my amazement it was just toms chopped up , around 4 whole toms on there own.!!!
just a bit more thought into your salads and you have a winner..

This is my new local and been there four or five times, usually on a Thursday, for a few drinks and to enjoy the excellent music. Tried the food menu a few weeks ago and although what turned up was lovely things were missing and we received a extra main course after service staff were confused. She bought four main courses for the three of us and forgot the side dish and then they had the nerve to argue with us about whether we had ordered it. This happened at our table whilst our other meals were getting gold. After this they still tried to charge us and it put a dampner on an otherwise good night party wise

McGettigan's Pub

Very interested to visit this new pub however extremely disappointed..... Service very poor (certain memebers of staff did not have a clue), food even poorer (sent back twice), eneded up refusing to pay and leaving hungry, did not touch the luke warm food. They even had the audacity to charge me for my 3 year old son's toasted sandwich...44 dhs. !!

Great place to grab a pub meal, or have few drinks with friends. Finally something interesting opened up in JLT. A place worth a visit.
