C Club
Time Out visits the regal cigar bar 1 Reviews
The smoking ban that has crept into bars and pubs in the Western hemisphere has been the death knell for the cigar bar, which has become a rare breed of drinking (and smoking) establishment. Happily, however, no such legislation has encroached on the leisurely pursuit of firing up a stogie in Dubai, a fact attested by C Bar (the ‘C’, we’re assuming, stands for cigar) – a regal, wood-panelled, high-ceilinged venue where you half expect to see English gentlemen with mutton chops and starched collars wagering that they can traverse the globe in 80 days.
No such luck on our visit – C Club was quite empty, though this didn’t lessen the experience. Jazz played softly in the background and we had trouble choosing from the abundant selection of malts, spirits and other beverages. Even if you pass on the tobacco options, C Club is still a pleasant destination for an aperitif before heading to one of the hotel’s numerous restaurants.
