Neos

Watch Dubai boom from the 63rd floor 11 Reviews

Once inside this 63rd-floor bar, it’s the views that grab you by the eyes and drag you towards the glass. The decor inside harks back to another era, with pouting art deco paintings, while the menu prices will make you wheeze. Neos scores nil points for warmth or value – but this is the ultimate place to watch Dubai bloom below.

I brought an out of town visitor to Neos and while the view did not disappoint, the drink prices were outrageous [140 Dhs for a gin and tonic] and the piano player ruined the ambiance, just awful....Calabar the downstairs bar is much better.

What a disappointment! The view from the 63th floor is stunning indeed - especially as the fountain show begins at night next to the Dubai Mall -, yet the bar itself is no more than a "just-okay-experience". Decor's a bit stuffy and too eclectic to my taste (metal everywhere, with contrasting shapes) - definitely more a hectic hype bar than a lounge. Service was average (the quite charming lady who provided the sits made up for the non-smiling, non-speaking waiter looking totally bored and pouty), and cocktails definitely too sweet.
As an earlier comment said: worth for the view, not for the rest...

Amazing view and very good decor. Good music, good drink and not expansive prices. Sometime service a bit slow but for sure one good place where to have a good time.

Maybe I was there on an off night, I am a frequent bar/club patron in Dubai and Neo's was a huge disappointment the night I was there. First, the elevator foyer between the 61st and the bar floor was jammed packed (not an issue to me specifically at first) and hot, but grown men kept repeatedly pushing their way through from the back of the line and literally elbowing and pushing the ladies waiting in the queue out of the way to get on the elevator while security stood by and only observed this repeated rude behavoir. This happened four times until we were able to get on the elevator and go up- once we arrived we had no problems finding a nice spot with a table and the view was gorgeous. The waitress did not understand our drink order of French Martini's and had to ask another server to take our order, which arrived 20 minutes later. On the second round we switched it up to whiskey's which arrived even later and was so watered down when it reached us it was unrecognizable as whiskey- seriously. At that point we decided to move on and to add insult to injury, the bill came back to us with charges for meals and additional drinks we hadn't partaken in. When we raised the issue politely to the server they came and looked over the receipt and simply scratched out with a pen what was not on our order. I am curious to see what my credit card will reflect in a few days. The view makes this place- not the drinks or service.

although i booked a table earlier the same day, i have been told that my name is not on the list, but me and my friends ended up sitting on a nice table that night. I think all they need to do is to check their reservation before they talk.
I liked the place, the drinks + the food was great... but nothing that fancy comparing to other bars i have been. but nice view, only wish it was not that humid :) i wish i went there earlier to enjoy the view, the prices are ok, not that expansive comparing to other bars in Dubai

Good, In the eyes of a newcomer. It gets boring later on as you become a regular, like most places do.

We were not greeted out of the lift as is normal in these bars and ended up sitting at a table we were later told was reserved. No sign to say this was reserved. No problem we enjoyed the views and the ambiance but the service was somewhat shambolic and quite disappointing compared to other similar bars we have been to in Dubai.
A common problem with most Dubai bars is not being able to read the menu in such low lighting. In other countries I have seen little lights attached to the menus to solve this problem and is a very unique touch which some bars would do well to adopt.
