From Time Out Dubai City Guide 2007

While The Irish Village hardly stands out from any of the billion other Irish hooch houses from Dubai to Derby, it’s a great option if you’re looking for a pint, a nibble and a crowd to enjoy them with. The major draw during winter months is the fantastic outside terrace that hugs a duck pond, yet the vast assortment of draught beers available - including old country favourites Guinness and Kilkenny, keep people flooding in all year round.

i do like the irish village, there are not many places in dubai where u can sit outside and enjoy a pint. the food is not amazing but you would not come here just for the food, i eat here to soak up some of the beer i drink. its relaxed and very casual and here you meet real people.

Its a big disappointment and uncool to change enterance policy at the last minute @ Oktoberfest. And the staff wasnt nice at all.

Before going to the Hopfest/Oktoberfest, we called several times to confirm that there was no cover charge. We were told there was not.

To our surprise and dismay, upon arrival at Irish Village (with a large group of people), we were told there was in fact a cover charge. The staff was quite rude about this.

Furthermore, Irish Village pulled this same stunt last year.

If you like being lied to, then sure, come here.

If not, I suggest you find elsewhere to spend your money.

Living less than 5 mins walk away from the Irish Village, it's a spot we frequent regularly. Although the service can be questionable, the food itself is very good. Great live music and a relaxed outdoor setting make it one of my favourite pre-clubbing destinations and it's overall it's a great place to hang out any day/night of the week.
