So called because it’s housed on the 44th floor – therefore sporting excellent views of ‘new’ Dubai – this is one of the most expensive bars in the city, yet it’s a tad too sterile to warrant the price tags. The candlelight, in-house pianist, and fine furnishings are well judged, but it’s the drinks that really let this place down.

Some of the cocktails contain so much ice that you’ll think you’ve ordered a Slush Puppie in error – and they’re obscenely overpriced – while the cheapest bottle of white wine costs over Dhs200, you’ll have to cough up at least Dhs300 for a bottle of red. Excellent service though.
