‘We’re not trying to compete with the “look at me clubs in Dubai”’, says Plan B club manager Jon Lavin, ‘we’re going to be a very fun club, with funky, accessible music and great deals.’ And true to his word, the latest incarnation of the Wafi club – it’s previously been Blush and Planetarium – is free all night, every night and has a happy hour between 10pm and midnight every day of the week and all night Saturday.
With a capacity of 350 downstairs and 90 in the Sushi and Champagne lounge (which will feature a host of bespoke fish dishes as well over 20 types of vodka and champagne), it’s a compact club that opens up into Ginseng. Tuesdays are going to be ladies’ night with two free drinks, Wednesday is Bubblegum, which celebrates the 80s and 90s, Saturday is happy hour prices all night while Sunday is Sensuality, with the resident DJ Gary Howard playing funky vocal house. The club officially opens on Thursday October 18 from 10pm, and will be open six nights a week thereafter (closed on Monday).
