The Monarch boasts one of the most prestigious addresses in Dubai: Number One Sheikh Zayed Road. It’s a shame, then, that its signature bar, One On One, doesn’t quite match the austere address.

An L-shaped bar decked out in light woods and with subtle lighting, it looks little more than an extension of the hotel lobby. Admittedly, the lobby is a grand and sumptuous space, but that’s hardly the point when you’re looking for a place to relax.

But if you’re looking for a pre- or post-prandial refresher then you’ve come to the right place. Boasting an impressive drinks menu and with knowledgeable and ever-friendly staff always on hand, you’ll never be left with a dry throat or an unanswered question.
