The USP for any bar on the 63rd floor is perhaps not so unique. On making our way skywards through this remarkably chic new hotel, we have to switch to a special second lift at the 61st (note: the 62nd mysteriously has no stop).

Once in, it’s the views that grab you by the eyes and drag you towards the glass. From the back you spy The Dubai Mall, and soon the super jets of its 270m high water fountain. From the front, you see dozens of projects in progress – an Etch-A-Sketch waiting to be filled in.

In contrast, the decor inside harks back to another era, with pouting Art Deco paintings, wait staff in bow ties and white tuxedos or slinky full-length satin. Although any character this might conjure is immediately wiped out by the masses of shiny chrome, as well as menu prices to make you wheeze. Fortunately the food and drink that arrives is faultlessly five-star (even if finding something without foie gras in it is a mission).

‘Neos’ scores points for warmth or value – but this is the ultimate place to watch Dubai bloom below.

although i booked a table earlier the same day, i have been told that my name is not on the list, but me and my friends ended up sitting on a nice table that night. I think all they need to do is to check their reservation before they talk.
I liked the place, the drinks + the food was great... but nothing that fancy comparing to other bars i have been. but nice view, only wish it was not that humid :) i wish i went there earlier to enjoy the view, the prices are ok, not that expansive comparing to other bars in Dubai

Good, In the eyes of a newcomer. It gets boring later on as you become a regular, like most places do.

We were not greeted out of the lift as is normal in these bars and ended up sitting at a table we were later told was reserved. No sign to say this was reserved. No problem we enjoyed the views and the ambiance but the service was somewhat shambolic and quite disappointing compared to other similar bars we have been to in Dubai.
A common problem with most Dubai bars is not being able to read the menu in such low lighting. In other countries I have seen little lights attached to the menus to solve this problem and is a very unique touch which some bars would do well to adopt.
