Step by step The first thing that strikes you about Chaps&Co is the style oozing out of every corner, and also out of every barber. The waiting area features a widescreen TV. On it? FIFA 2015 on the PlayStation, naturally. Opposite, the presentation of the salon name is a work of art – lit up by individual bulbs in an iron shelling. The cut itself is expertly done. Jay has made using clippers an art form, flipping between blades, tools and lengths as a painter would pick his brushes, but thankfully applying them studiously rather than like some reckless post-modern conceptual artist.
The result We’d asked for short and sensible; sometimes that’s harder to get right than the latest zany trend. And that’s exactly what we got. Spot on.
Pros Even the follicly challenged could get something out of an hour at Chaps&Co. You leave with a strut in you step, feeling every bit as dapper as the décor.
