SensAsia Urban Spa
Time Out Dubai tries out the SensSports massage at SensAsia Urban Spa. Get contact information on the boutique spa.
This specialist 90-minute massage for men at SensAsia Urban Spa combines stretching and reflexology to target the effects of intense fitness training.
Step by step
Only the slight trace of jasmine (or possibly lavender – who can really tell?) in the air suggests a spa occupies a corner of the fitness centre at Emirates Golf Club. But once inside, SensAsia seems much larger than is possible, like a Tardis of tranquillity. Our therapist begins with low-pressure massage and light stretching to warm the muscles before really getting to work, expertly seeking out points of discomfort without the need for much direction. The treatment ends with the requisite head and face massage and is followed by a sharp, invigorating ginger tea in the very red relaxation room.
The massage is firm to the point of occasional discomfort as knotted muscle fibres are smoothed out, and some soreness follows, but our legs and back feel more flexible.
While some therapists shy away from causing temporary discomfort, there was no such fear here – ours was skilled and self-assured. It’s also good value for money.
The gentle face and head massage seems a bit unnecessary.

I highly recommend Sensasia to anyone who wants to have an experience beyond pampering. Don't be fooled by names like Burj Al Arab, Atlantis, or any other place. They all shy away beside Sensasia. I strongly recommend their urban living especially with the coffee or chocolate scrub, yummmmm just heaven!
