Like many of the spas in The Dubai Mall, Dermalogica manages to create the kind of calm that is rarely found in a shopping centre. What makes the skin specialists stand out, though, is that their version of serenity has nothing to do with pan-pipe music, rose petal trails or the suffocating sir- m’am approach to service employed by many of their competitors. Instead, the spa relies on a simple, starkly white interior and quality consultants. I started my treatment with a one-on-one appointment with an Australian skin therapist, who mapped my face to determine which products to use.

I was then led to a treatment pod, where I could choose the lighting and music for the ultimate relaxation experience. My therapist was thorough, and asked me a number of questions about my skin and habits. After the treatment, I felt thoroughly cleansed, and the skin on my face felt positively glowing. I can honestly say it was the best facial I’ve ever had. Finally, I’ve joined the legions of dedicated A-list followers (think Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Biel) and wonder why I stayed away so long.

admittedly, great service on the part of the well-trained skin therapists;the folks at dermalogica may want to reconsider the pricing though!
