Eco-friendly spas in Dubai

Spa InterContinental
Patrons of the spa are spoiled for choice when it comes to organic treatments. Therapists use the organic Just Pure and the UAE-based Shiffa lines. Get back in tough with nature with the chemical-free, organic body wrap and a soothing sugar body exfoliation treatment. To get the full effect, top these off with the deluxe Just Pure organic facial.
InterContinental Dubai Festival City (04 701 1257). Organic body wrap, Dhs380; body exfoliation, Dhs200, deluxe facial Dhs550.
The Nail Spa
Who knew that one of the city’s most decadent facials would come from a nail salon? Well, believe it. The Nail Spa is the only place in town that carries Deborah Mitchell’s brilliant Heaven line. The products are not only organic but also surprisingly effective. If you’re not convinced, try the Heaven facial. There are four to choose from, though our favourite is the angel face lift, which incorporates the bee venom face mask, aka, nature’s botox. Your face is guaranteed to feel tighter (at least ours did). And to think, you can achieve all this without chemicals.
The Dubai Mall (04 339 9078). Facials Dhs250-450. Call ahead for a 20 per cent discount on treatments Sun-Mon.
LIME Spa
For a facial that is as natural as it is pampering, head to the Desert Palm’s spa for their signature treatment: the 30- or 60-minute intuitive organic facial. We’re not sure what, exactly, makes this facial intuitive. Perhaps it’s the way the organic, halal-certified botanical products – care of Australian brand Kush – adapt to all skin types. All we know is we love the way our skin feels afterwards. Plus, the treatment comes with a head, neck and shoulder massage that leaves customers feelings relaxed and soft. For all out decadence, try the 90-minute organic gold mine facial, which incorporates pure gold.
Desert Palm (04 323 8888). Dhs220-440 for organic facial, Dhs790 for gold mine facial.
Tilia & Finn
When it comes to treating your hair, finding all-natural products can be a bit tricky. The chemical-free Philip B Botanicals line, however, is just that. The celebrity hair stylist who is the namesake behind the products has sourced ingredients from all over the world, and prefers to tap into nature to create his balms, washes and conditioners. To heal damaged hair, or just give it a periodic boost, it’s worth trying out the Katira treatment.
Boutique 1 (04 438 0636). Dhs125 for 15 minute treatment.
Elche
All the treatments at this ladies-only salon are 100 per cent organic. That’s because all the products are mixed by hands using ingredients found in nature. The brand was developed 50 years ago by Hungarian beautician Iiona ‘Ilsci’ Molnar (outside of the Middle East, the brand is known as Ilsci). All staff in the Dubai spa are Elche trained, meaning all treatments are carried out by qualified experts. We’re a fan of the 90-minute oxygen skin tightening treatment. It may be pricy, but it beats a face lift.
Street10, behind Jumeirah Beach Plaza (04 349 4942). Oxygen skin tightening treatment Dhs690.

Feedback to first para: I love the SPA at the IC, it is really one of the best. However, as far as I know, they the JUST PURE range was just taken off the shelves... I love the fact that now they opted for local organic lines!
Feedback to last para:
There is an error in spelling this famous Hungarian lady's name: It should be Ilona (ilona) and her nickname is: Ilcsi (ilcsi)
