Imagine doing yoga in a car park in August and you’ve got bikram sussed. But, damning sarcasm aside, bikram is an interesting workout that converts strong followers. Students are recommended to arrive early to acclimatise to the 44C room. The yoga postures aren’t technically as hard as in some other disciplines, but you’ll find your heart racing and the postures still challenging. There’s a lot of focus on stretching and balance and the postures are said to lead to compression on organs and a release of toxins. You may hate the first session, but you’ll find you quickly become an addict – when you walk out afterwards you’ll feel truly rejuvenated.
Bikram classes run continuously; a single class costs Dhs70, or an introductory package, which gives unlimited access to classes for 10 days costs Dhs100. Club Stretch is based in Satwa near the Capitol Hotel (04 345 2131).

I've tried many different styles of yoga... from easy to the most difficult ones. However, I've never experienced the pain yet extremely energetic energy after the yoga like I did with Bikram hot yoga. For those contemplating to venture into Bikram yoga studio in Dubai, be very very sure that you are serious about your health benefits through Bikram's hot yoga. It is not for the light hearted folks. If you can make it through the first 90 minutes of class, you have serves steel and strength of an olympian. Second and the third segments of classes requires a real heavy duty of will power. But by then you are hooked. There's absoultely no yoga like Bikram's hot yoga. I've taken yoga from New York city to New zealand and everything inbetween but nothing like Bikram's yoga. If you can be at Bikram's third time, you got it licked. Absolutely amazing experience!
