Nothing brightens our day like hearing about new concepts arriving on these sandy shores. This week, we’re wholeheartedly embracing the weird and the wonderful. Ever heard of Feminine Fusion Dance? Nor had we, until a little bird told us this ‘amazing movement’ is coming to Dubai this month for a series of workshops. It’s designed to ‘restore, treasure or intensify your feminine radiance’ through dance (find out more about how to savour your feminine radiance at www.benyera.com).
Continuing the dance theme, James & Alex Dance Studios in Media City is launching adult ballet classes, giving you a chance to realise your childhood dreams of becoming a prima ballerina – and it’s open to men too. Even if you don’t end up starring in Swan Lake, it’s still a great way to get in shape and improve your posture.
Elsewhere in the city, we’ve caught wind of a new facial soon to be rolled out at Dubai’s Eternel Medspa. It claims to use stem-cell technology (the researchers who developed it were recently awarded a Nobel Prize for medicine) to repair DNA and cell damage, and apparently offers ‘unsurpassed’ preventative measures against the effects of ageing. We’ll be visiting soon to put it to the test.
Finally, a new beauty product has caught our eye – literally. Bloomingdale’s will soon be selling Paperself faux lashes, available in a range of daring designs (starting from a very reasonable Dhs89, we’re told). Ever fancied having birds batting around your eyelids? Starfish? Scorpion’s tails for lashes? For an eye-catching look over the party season, get thee to the mall. That’s all for now – until next week, namaste.
