Aroma Radiance Lift System at Ritz-Carlton DIFC
Claire Glasby tries this luxurious firming treatment Discuss this article
The facial combines indulgent Aromatherapy Associates products with galvanic technology, which aims to cleanse and pamper the skin, as well as provide a ‘workout’ for the facial muscles, all leading to better tone and a firmer complexion. It helps that the treatment takes place in the plush surrounds of The Ritz-Carlton’s spa for guaranteed instant relaxation.
Step by step
Before the treatment begins, my therapist, Nancy, asks me a few questions and guides me through the stages. As well as toning the skin, she tells me that the galvanic currents also act as a deep cleanse and an exfoliant (in place of products that would normally strip the skin). I lie back on the extremely comfortable bed as 90 minutes of pampering ensues, with the usual cleanse and tone followed by the galvanic treatment over an Aromatherapy Associates mask, then a facial massage and final moisturise. The galvanic part of the treatment is far from uncomfortable – in fact, it just feels like a deep, rhythmical massage.
Straight afterwards, while my skin is still slathered in product, I look healthy and glowing. Yet the true test is a few days later – minor breakouts have cleared up, my skin looks firmer and less tired and that healthy glow is still there.
• It really does feel like a pampering treat, combining the surroundings and the treatment.
• The effects are obvious – skin really does glow and feel clearer.
• The galvanic treatment left a strange metallic taste in my mouth, although it disappeared as soon as the treatment ended.
