Sags and wrinkles are starting to spread across faces at Time Out towers so we've tested an anti-aging treatment in Dubai
I’m not exactly old, but my face, as it nears, ahem, 30, is definitely starting to show its age, regardless. Hence, I’m always excited to try out anti-aging treatments, especially ones that are made from all organic products, as is the case with Deborah Mitchell’s line of products, Heaven. Her bee venom mask even promised ‘an instant face lift’. So I headed to The Nail Spa, which has recently started stocking her products and using them as part of their own treatments.
Ms. Mitchell, who has done skin consultations for Prince Charles and Camilla as well as David and Victoria Beckham, was in town during the Dubai launch of her products, so I was fortunate enough to meet with her face-to-face for my treatment.
‘You’ll notice I don’t start with a traditional skin consultation,’ she told me. ‘Instead, I’m going to read your aura.’ I’ll admit, I groaned inside. So far, I have had my aura read on numerous occasions in Dubai, and I’ve yet to be impressed. Fortunately, her reading (which her staff have all been trained to perform as well) was without the hocus pocus I had grown accustomed to. Rather than focus on the emotional, she picked up on the location of various aches, pains and dry patches. Mainly, she was very accurate. She then swathed me in her creams, scrubs and masks. It’s rare that I’ve felt a facial has had any discernable effect on my face, and yet I’m happy to report my heaven facial was not only noticeable to me, but to those around me.
‘Your skin looks great,’ my boyfriend randomly exclaimed at the day’s end (and I hadn’t even told him about my facial). This is definitely one to try, again and again. Heaven Facial at The Nail Spa (04 339 9078). A half hour facial is Dhs250.
