Hatha and yogalates in Al Quoz this weekend, all in the name of a good cause
A charity yoga day is coming to Dubai this weekend, supporting some extremely worthwhile causes.
At 8am on Saturday July 29, take a Hatha class and learn classic yoga practices of asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing) which are designed to bring peace to the mind and body. The 9.15am class is focused on yogalates, a comprehensive exercise class that is a combination of yoga and Pilates. Both classes are run by Victoria Cunningham, founder of Voyoga.
The classes will raise funds for the UNHCR, the United Nations refugee agency, to pay for medical treatments for Syrian refugees in Lebanon. The classes will also support Mission Himalaya Eco Farm, an orphanage in Nepal, and form part of a charitable fundraising project called AZA Everest – about which you can read more on its Just Giving, and donate if you so wish.
Yoga classes on Saturday 29 will be taking place at Hangry Hangar in Al Quoz, and are totally free of charge to participate in. A collection box will be at each class, and guests are encouraged to make a donation on the day. This event is licensed by Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, license no. 310.
Free. Sat Jul 29, 8am-10.30am. Warehouse 4, Al Quoz, www.facebook.com (056 758 7729)
