Founders Loren Holland and Frank Afeaki have excluded the “fluffy towel service” like saunas and steam rooms to keep membership costs as low as possible, while trying to become “one of the best equipped facilities globally”.
The duo pride themselves on creating a welcoming environment and almost 30 percent of the pre-opening member sign-ups have been from first timers.
Loren, 36, from Manchester, UK, told Time Out Dubai, “We want to make health and fitness affordable and accessible for everyone in Dubai and to eventually have a chain of gyms that are welcoming for all.
“At GymNation we give our members exactly what the majority of people want but at an affordable price. So you’ll find a vast selection of latest generation gym equipment, in a very clean and airy environment. We also aim to be open 24/7, which isn’t commonplace in Dubai.”
Frank, 31, from Auckland, New Zealand, said, “We are a fully equipped gym with more than 500 pieces of top of the range Matrix equipment, spanning cardio, strength and functional training.
“We have three separate studios. In our main studio we will run more than 200 classes a month with the majority being Les Mills.
“We also have a dedicated virtual studio where members can do 24-hour virtual Les Mills classes and a spinning studio with more than 30 world class Stages SC3 bikes.”
The gym will also have a separate ladies only workout area and studio, plus fully trained instructors to guide you on your fitness quest.
We can’t wait to work up a sweat. From Dhs99. Opening March. Al Quoz, www.GymNation.ae.
