Okay, so I didn’t get my hair cut there, and they may be super dooper when it comes to the old barnet, but don’t go there for a manicure or pedicure whatever you do.

After the woman filled a grubby old Remington foot spa with water, I had a half-hearted pedicure balanced on a hair salon chair in the corner of the hairdressers, and was provided with a couple of magazines 3 or 4 months out of date. After a while, I was asked if I’d like polish, and if so, it would be an additional 50 Dhs for polish on my fingernails and polish on my toes (100 in total). Obviously flabbergasted (the price was already a high 250 dhs for not a great mani/pedi) I was told that if I wished to use an Entertainer voucher (they are in the Entertainer book), I would also have to pay 100 dhs extra for polish next time too when it would be supposed to be my complimentary treatment! We came to some arrangement but then the lady kept trying to up-sell me to a facial. Really unrelaxing and the polishes and equipment were old and in an old box.

I suggest ditching Dessange for nails and head to the Nail Spa, Nail Room or the Cure or somewhere similar instead – they have a proper set-up for Manicures and medicures, comfy chairs, the latest mags and tv to watch – and the price is much, much cheaper than Dessange – even with loads of lovely extras like massages and hand spas!

I think Dessange must be riding on the coat tails of the hotel they are in. Like I say though, they might be great with hair.
