Modern hair salon, considered by many to be Dubai's best 10 Reviews

A Time Out favourite, mariadowling is a spacious and modern salon, currently earning itself a reputation as Dubai’s premier hairdressing salon. You’ll need to book well in advance, though, as often it takes up to six weeks to get an appointment. Cut and blow-dry from Dhs200.

I’m reading some of these posts in disbelief...

The only salon i will visit is Marias in Dubai and thats purely on the basis of having my hair done by either Charlotte or Maxine both girls are in their 20's but I think you forget hairdressers start training at the age of 15 also you do have to be careful visiting a hair salon being in dubai where most hairdressers are not qulified....

I visited this salon in december 2010 for a cut and blow dry with a "senior Stylist". I asked for an appointment with Maria but was told that she was only taking appointments for existing clients!! ! I told them that I really wanted a hairdresser with a lot of experience, so i was recommended someone else who was a" senior stylist", but when I went for my appointment I was disappointed as she was only 20 years old and in my opinion didn't have that much experience, I felt she didn't have the confidence and experience to know what I wanted even thought we had a long consultation. I left feeling rather disappointed at the result of the cut and blow dry as it didn't look any different to when I went in!! It was expensive for what I got and will not be going back. I have since emailed the salon twice, directly to Maria but never had a reply, which is not very professional considering she says that clients feed back is like golddust!! I will be trying somewhere else and asking more questions next time!!

Hi there, all I can say I had the best experience ever at Maria Dowling.
As I was one of the ladies that won the hair makeover in Dec 2010 .
Maria was a delightful and experienced hairdresser she was patient and warm and the atmosphere of the salon and staff were great ..I think they are reasonable compared to Australia if you want a great colour and haircut these day's you need to pay.
Really that you cannot especially in Dubai .
I will definetly be going back.
Ciao Elsa

I visited the salon yesterday ,15 June 2010. Mariam highlighted, cut and styled my hair beautifully!
I would recommend it. Expensive? 660 AED and my hair is below shoulder length. I thought it was appopriate.

I just booked an appointment there. Who did you see? The last thing I need is to have a bad experience!
Thanks for the feedback.

They try to make it look really sleek and trendy, but the hairdressers are aweful. Worst hair cut and colour. She had to dye it twice because she coloured it wrong. The after effects were so bad that my hair started to fall out.
