Fitness First

Mega gym with good membership deals and venues all over town Reviews

Unlike the majority of gyms, Fitness First gives members the chance to pay per month. In addition to the Ibn Battuta branch, there are other outlets around the city. Once you’ve joined one branch, you can use any other, and all of the group classes are included as part of your membership. Personal training is available, as are saunas, steam rooms and a members’ lounge, where you can unwind watching a DVD after your workout.

I signed up with fitness first 3 months ago after I heard about a promotion. The promotion was that I pay only 249 for the first month but then I have to pay the regular rate, 400 dhs for another 2 months. I knew I wasn't benefiting much from the promotion, but decided to join anyway since I was told it's only a 3 months commitment. Furthermore, the salesman assured me that if I couldn't pay for the last 3rd month, he would help terminate my contract. Unfortunately, after the 3rd month, I was shocked to find out that the same salesman who convinced me to join, had left the company and had signed me up for a year. I know it was my mistake initially that I signed the contract and didn't take a look through it, but I was certain that such a huge brand, that is located worldwide would not be capable of cheating their customers, and would not want to ruin it's reputation. Now they are admitting it was the former salesman's fault that he promised me different conditions, but I signed and there's nothing they can do, which is an obvious lie. Thing is I did want to continue with this gym, but after this experience I've learnt they don't care about their customers. Unfortunately I will have to settle with having 400 dhs being taken off my card every month for a service I will no longer be using. Now I have told all my friends who are at the same fitness first branch in Knowledge Village about this ludicrous situation and neither of them want to continue with the gym as well.

4 months back I joined fitness first as a replacement for my brother who left the country for college abroad and couldn't terminate his contract....paid 200 and transferred memberships....since then, I never stood foot inside fitness first...never even applied for an entry card...they kept deducting 450 monthly from my credit card and I couldn't stop them....when I finally went there to cancel my membership (after deducting more than 2000) they refused and said "you signed the contract, you pay!).... they offered to freeze the remaining 3 months at 112 dirhams monthly! and I had to accept....
word of advice, don't join them...they are good at marketing but their gyms are often crowded and poorly maintained....they don't care about their customers and they will charge you even if you don't use their services...companies with such policies that don't take reason and common sense should go down the hill...I hope they incur losses and go bankrupt....

Actually I go to Fitness First located in Saudi Arabia. I have googled: "fitness first reviews comments" and I found out that people are giving very similar comments though they have experienced Fitness First in different multinational locations. Hope that FF Management can get into those "reviews" and do something in this regard.

I have recently joined Fitness FIrst and am a bit disappointed with the services... 1) The weights machine's knob has broken off and it is very difficult to lift it upwards 2) most of the shower door locks do not work, after my work out I waste time checking the shower door lock for one that actually locks! 3) who ever cleans this shower area has obviously never put their hand on the wall, its slimy and really disgusting 4) the locker area while shared along with the staff members is not an issue, I'm sure we would appreciate it if the staff had an area alloted for themselves with hairdryers and lockers as they all break off at the same time

I just wanted to inform all the new members of Fitness first at the introduction level evryone is so sweet they promise alot like wathcing your favorite programme while doing your workout but it is so not true they will only have the channels that they want and even if you do bring up the issue no one is really bothered.Secondly when getting a personal training be sure about the person you choose coz out of the 4 i had this year only 1 was good .

Fitness first is just like any othere gym so please do not get overwhelmed by the display of instruments intially like i did.

One to keep your eye out on is the new fitness studio soon to launch in Dubai Marina in the lower level of 'Damac The Waves Tower'.
The studio will offer over several indoor and outdoor group classes (no gym equipment - purely group classes!) and will launch beginning of September at a competitive rate starting from 275 Dhs per month (annual membership). And yes, you can pay monthly as well at 300 Dhs per month.

There will be NO joining or admin fees and no cancellation fees to drain your wallet. We've picked the best and freshest trainers from abroad and in Dubai to run the classes (Core Spinning, Core Yogilates, Jukari Fit to Fly by Reebok, Core Pump, Core Combat, Core X-Ft, Core Bootcamp, Core Dance academy and lots more!)

Find out more by visiting our new site at : www.corestudiome.com and drop me a line to find out more : noura@coredirection.com

Let's bring fun back to fitness - hassle free!

Wouldn't really recommed to anyone!!
You have a ridiculously long wait to use any of the gym equipment (although the variety seems really fabulous on the guided tour whilst the sales pitch is being sung to you). A work out which shouldn't take more than an hour sometimes takes over 2 1/2 just waiting on equipment to be free, owing to the memberships being oversold, and insufficient equipment!!
Joining is made to sound really easy (as is usual with such places!), but when you have to leave, suddenly they make it very difficult, and the "friendly" staff suddenly turn rude with a complete lack of empathy.
Bad experience with them.
